AUDITIONS are May 6, 7, and 8th

at the Oconomowoc High School Little Theater

Please complete the Audition Form. Ensure you review the vocal sheet music link to choose a song from the provided options and print a copy for your audition. Then, follow the link to schedule your audition time. For tips and reminders on preparing for your vocal audition, refer to the provided vocal audition preparation link. Acting auditions and line reading will not be until callbacks. Acting auditions will be cold reading from sides provided at the callback. Plan to bring a headshot and resume to the vocal audition.

Youth Auditions:     May 6 & 7       5:00pm-6:00pm
Adult Auditions:     May 6, 7 & 8    6:30pm-9:30pm
Adult Callbacks:     May 9            6:00pm-9:00pm                                                                                              Auditions will be at the Oconomowoc High School (OHS) Little Theater at 641 E. Forest Street, Oconomowoc

REHEARSALS BEGIN: May 13, 2024  Rehearsals will run Monday - Thursday from 6pm to 9pm at The First Congregational Church UCC at 815 S. Concord Road, Oconomowoc

PERFORMANCES: July 19, 20, 21, 2024 at the Oconomowoc Arts Center

We are on the lookout for the perfect ensemble to transport audiences to the enchanting land of Oz. From the spirited Dorothy to the mischievous Scarecrow, each character is waiting for the right actors to breathe life into their roles. This is a golden opportunity to showcase your talent, have fun, and become an integral part of our community in "The Wizard of Oz"! Don't miss your chance to be a part of this extraordinary experience.

Leads & Supporting Roles:
DOROTHY GALE: female, (Mezzo/Mix) Young Kansas girl, earnest, expressive, and
strong-willed, in search of something more. Very strong singer who moves well.
HUNK / SCARECROW: male, (Baritone) Plucky & clever in a pinch, even while lacking
a brain. Strong actor w/an honest quality. Excellent dancer – acrobatic skills a bonus.
Strong baritone to F.
HICKORY / TIN MAN: male, (Baritone/Tenor) Desperate for a heart. Kind-hearted
romantic. Singing and dance required. Strong baritone / tenor to G.
ZEKE / COWARDLY LION: male, (Baritone) A mix of bravado and cowardice. Should
move well. Cuddly actor with excellent comic timing. Vocal range: Strong baritone to F.
ALMIRA GULTCH / WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST: female. Character villain with an
over-the-top stage presence. Excellent comic actress has a killer cackle. Sings
comically but doesn’t have to sound good.
PROFESSOR MARVEL / THE WIZARD: male. Older father figure with an eccentric flair.
Basic conjuring or sleight of hand a bonus. Non-Singing.
GLINDA: female, (Soprano) Glinda is the Good Witch of the North. Benevolent and
beloved. Strong singer. (May double as Aunt Em.)
AUNT EM: female. Aunt Em is demanding but loves her niece. Non-singing. (May
double as Glinda.)                                                                                                                                          UNCLE HENRY: male. Dorothy’s pleasant uncle. Non-singing. (May double as Emerald
City Guard.)
EMERALD CITY GUARD: male, (Baritone) Strong comic actor, big presence. (May
double as Uncle Henry.)

Ensemble Roles:
MUNCHKINS: boys and girls, (under 5ft tall). The little people of Munchkinland. Long
oppressed, and happy to be freed, the Munchkins will (mostly) be played by children.
Group singing and coordinated movement required. Dance experience a plus. There
are some featured roles among the munchkins, such as The Coroner, The Lollipop
Guild, and The Lullaby League.
WINKIES / FLYING MONKEYS / OZIANS / ADULT MUNCHKINS: Boys and girls and
teens. The chorus of the show, with featured speaking/vocal/dancing roles available.
Singing and movement required.
